I have monitored this site for the past 4 years. I am from neither camp, and found that from just reading the messages, the real class outfit is the Horseshoe Camp, regardless of where it is located.
I have read of your passion for the lake, and what it has meant to all of you, and your joy at finding another opportunity to carry on your traditions.
Hopefully when I divulge who I am I will not be scorned by you, since in hindsight I guess I am indirectly the cause perhaps of the demise of your camp in Minong.
I am a current resident of little horseshoe, and built a home on the lake. I was not aware of your camp, and the traditions you have maintained, and do feel regret that what is now on little horseshoe is a group of homes, and no longer your beloved camp. I guess that is the trend today.
I want you all to know that I hold the lake with deep respect, and knowing of your history will help me to communicate the special place it holds and hopefully prevent it from altering any more from the memories you all have.
I would welcome any of you to come back and visit, if you so desire. It would allow me to learn of the history of lake and activities and adventures shared by your campers.
Thanks for allowing me to post to your forum, and best of luck to all of you at your new camp.
