Recently heard back from one my former Pioneers who recalled with fondness and delight some of the after-taps "segments of truth" and other stories that were spun around the campfire. Turns out he has written a dynamite new novel (concerning "video game addiction, Hollywood surfdom, ill-fated romance, and extremely misguided notions about Japan"), which I heartily recommend: LUCKY WANDER BOY by D.B. Weiss (some of you may have known him as Dan or Danny Wiess, in those heady days of the late-seventies I think it was). Anyway, you can check out his novel on line either at www.luckywanderboy.com or www.penguinputnam.com.
