 Friday night Council Horseshoe(services)

Can someone recall any of Doc H's Friday night liturgy at Council Horseshoe? I am particularly interested in the poetic verses. For some reason Frost's poem "The Road Less Traveled" comes to mind, but I do not think that was it.

Ed,

Check out the previous postings under "Council Horseshoe Quotes"; I think these are the poetic verses you seek.

I dont' think it was Robert Frost, but the one you're thinking of, Ed, went something like:

"A tree and a road and a hillside, clear cut against the sky. Tall trees tossed by autumn winds, and a white cloud riding high. Ten men walked along that road and all but one passed by. He saw the tree, the cloud, and the hill with an artist's mind and eye. And he put it down on canvass for the other nine men to buy."

Someone has custody of these pieces Doc H used at Council Horseshoe. Bob and Myke Mercier may have them.

Ed

I loved seeing your name on this list, and I have saved several of the old Horseshoe Council papers. I actually have cut-outs of the originals, and will make a list of these.

It was wonderful seeing many names I remember, though I was the camp Doc, and remember everyone as "small kids"--even "grubbies"

I'll try to get some copies of this to you. Send me your address (real address)

Richard

Please tell him I say hi.

Omigod,

I think I'll have to get out of the way before Berkowitz does a power slide into me!

Anyhow... if any of you have any pictures, we'd love to see them. I can help scan if you want, just let me know. You can send them to me and I'll return them quickly.

Hey Doc!

Do you still have the scar above your eye from your close encounter with the mess hall? I'll never forget you trying to convince Marilyn to let you sew it up yourself orr the trip to Shell Lake.

Regards,

Roy

John--How the heck are you??? How are Susie and the girls????? Long time, no talk, tho Barby and I keep up on you through Bob and Myke. We're still in Seattle, me practicing law. Our 2 girls live in San Francisco, one married, one with a signif. other. Hope all's well with you. Assume you're still in Rice Lake. And yes, I remember a little less of you and me a little more of us quite well. Also your Olie Svenson song, among others. Take care, old friend.

Donnie
