Hello all, Danny G. told me about the site a few days ago and I finally had a few minutes to log on. I'm looking forward to our trip in late August with the camp guys. If there is any overflow from Gould's cabin, there is always room at the Schwartz compound on Pear Lake.

To all those that are reading and reminiscing about camp I join you. I started in '76 and spent 11 summers at camp from a Pioneer through counselor of Pioneer A and I thought that cycle would never end. I dearly miss the people, activity and the place. Camp made me who I am today and was a pivotal part of my childhood. The friendships we made and the memories we created live on even though the physical camp is gone. I am fortunate to be able to see camp frequently through my long and close friendship with Danny Gould. Camp looks quite different and it took some getting used to. Who would have thought there would be a luxury cabin in Forbidden Cove? As Adam Marton mentioned, Advenure Lake is very much the same except for the cabin. Some of my first camping experiences were at A-Lake and it is great that it still exists. My wife and I live in St. Paul, MN and are about 2 hours from camp (not a coincidence). We have a cabin near Howell landing on the Namakagen and spend many weekends in the Northwoods throughout the year. I can tell you that the whooporwill, eagles, deer, bears, loons and many others are still around and haven't much noticed our departure from camp.

For those who have wondered about the Merciers I can tell you that they are great! Danny and I visited with Bob and Myke at the Gould's new cabin the other day and recalled lots of fond memories. They still live in Shell Lake and keep in touch with many, many campers and counselors.

Danny G. and I have had a few conversations about a "reunion" of sorts in 2004. More info to come so spread the word and let everyone know about this site. I'm sure we'll be building a database real soon.
