aloha--
just discovered this site while looking on the web for some land up in the old camp area... i've been fantasizing about the old fishing days up there for a few years now.
my memory is a little hazy (right after camp, i entered my teenage years in the 60's and my brain is a little "experiment" addled... nuff said).... i'm pretty sure that it was 63 & 64 that i was at horseshoe as a pioneer/woodsman... my first year there, my arm was in a cast & as such i played alot of tetherball one-armed (i think i helped frankie perfect his anti-tetherball dogma)... i'm relating this in the hope that someone with a better memory will be able to jog mine... the pics & etc. on the web site have really helped, & it would be great for someone who knows more of the history to post it (i.e. what happened to the camp, significant dates of passing, etc..... i have seen some references to josie & to fire, & am very curious what happened)... i remember gordie's son scott was there when i was, maybe slightly older or younger... dan gould's name rings a foghorn, as does david lightman, john pritzker & tom gutman.... if any one has more pics from this era, please post them!!
also, my uncle sy was the camp doc in 1960, & his sons keith & rob were campers then... i'm fowarding this web site to them, but meanwhile, if anyone wants to contact them, i have their email--

Rick[y]--I think you were in Forester C or D in 1965. I was your counselor. Jeff Lazarus, Rick Melcher, Bruce Korr, and others were in there, too. Jeff Laz and I were talking about you last fall when he was here in Seattle for a convention. Take care. Don

don(ny)--
my ears are burning-- what were you guys talking about??-- your memories must be better than mine-- i do remember you, and jeff & rick m's name sound familiar-- are there any pics around anywhere from that era?? that seems to help jog my memory, as i have not kept in touch all these years the way it seems that you & many of the others have-- i remember a dance at the girls camp, when i made you & several of the counselors laugh pretty hard w/ my dancing prowess-- if you remember that, i'll relay more about it another time--
my whole life i've flyfished left-handed, b/c that's how doc taught me w/ my arm in a cast-- he was a saint--
good to hear from you--
rick

I remember your arm in a cast, showering with a plastic bag on it. I also remember you were a pretty good flycaster.
