Blanche and Oren Olsen were the owners of Olsen's Log Cabin Resort at the south end of the lake. What was the name of their dog?

Hi!
I'm am Steve Burval's sister, Burdel Horner. I have also been going up to Horshoelake for 53 years, although not consecutively. One of my very best friends is a granddaughter of Blanche Olsen's and we met on the pier while my family and I were staying in one of the log cabins when I was 13 years old. (Opps! How old am I?) All of us kids staying at Olson's used to take hikes all around the area and once got stranded on the other side of Bass Lake after following the fire trails through the woods. Thanks to Don Kronkite, Bea Kronkite's son, (now deceased) who led us on the expedition, (Bea owned the small cabin at the edge of Frog Creek, or so we called it, on the SW corner of Little Horshoe next to what was Mr. Maley's place) paid some man 50 cents to take us across the lake to the main road. Everyone thought we were lost! And so did we until we saw Bass Lake. Of course, Blance was worried too, but about "Skippy" their dog who accompanied us on our wanderings. Skippy was a currly, black lab and loved everyone.

This should probably have gone in the 'stories' section seeing the length of my answer.

Could not let Leanne be the only one checking in here. (She's my baby sister.)Wonder if any one can remember what Oren and Blanche called the eastern most cabin in Olsens Log Cabin Resort? If you can come up with "Skippy" this should be easy.
Wonder if anyone can remember the teenager who ran a a tri-hulled runabout up on the beach at full speed near the Burvals when a fishing fly came loose, stuck in his leg and distracted him from what he should have been doing? An adult gentleman helped him get the boat back into the lake, the transom was a good ten feet from the water. Lucky the beach is clear and flat right there. Someone mentioned it to Claude Chiles soon there after. Grampa was not to upset. No harm, no foul. Great times at the lake. Guess I have given the answer to the second question away. Oh well!
By the way Leanne should explain what happend to the windshield on that same runabout.
Wonderfull place, wish we still had connections to the place.
Glad to see others think well of it. Great web sight.
