Leanne,
Nice to see your response to my nephew Mark's post. Even nicer to hear one more person who loves all the Horseshoe memories. I've been going to Horseshoe since I was 2 years old and am now 57. My parents Joe and Evelyn built their cottage around 1956. It's the only building located between the two points in the center of the lake, (we're directly accross from "Redmer's" Yes, we all still call it that. Mr. Redmer used to attend our church back in Des Plaines, IL so while our family stayed at Olsen's Resort from 1948 through 56 we used to visit them occasionally. Most everyone in our family considers the lake a special place. My son Brent in fact cares for it enough to have built this web-site.
This year age has caught up with my parents and it will be the first year they'll miss the beautiful fall colors. At 91 and 87 they still live in their first and only home in Park Ridge, IL. and are quite self suffiecient. It looks like this will be a milestone year for me also as I've been unable to make it up due to some troublesome back problems. Hard to break the streak.
Lots of stories, experiences and lots of fun. There's no place quite like it.
Wondering if you still get up there? For now.
Steve
