Gang,
I have modified the forum to allow optional login (let me know if you guys think that required login would be better (it would force users to login and create a profile and would thereby in theory beef up your database quicker -- the caveat is that some users may not wish to login, and it could inhibit some posting)).
You can setup a new profile by clicking on "Log In" near the top of the page (or just log in if you have already setup a profile). When a user logs in before posting, the user's messages will carry with it a link to thier profile information (see the top of this message for instance, click on "Brent Burval" to see my profile (if the use was not logged in the link will generate an email to the message poster)). User's can upload a picture of themselves, enter email address, homepage URL, etc.
I will add phone and address fields to the user table to allow tracking of said information. Let me know if you want any additional fields added.
In the future I will setup a simple interface that allows users to search the user database by a variety of criteria.
