I just received a message tonight from Rick Schwab relating to this web site. It is great to see so many familiar names. I know my son, Aaron, misses Horseshoe as much as I do. I would still love to visit the Mess Hall, roam the camp and listen to the sound of grubbies having fun as we all did when we were younger. Just being at Horseshoe always made me feel much younger and brought back the memories of treasure hunts, the Green/Brown super relay, putting Cabin 14's beds and possessions in the Golden Horseshoe Lodge across the lake or tying them into canoes anchored in the middle of the Lake, watching Gordie race to the 440 bouy and back, and Song and Cheer night...and, of course, Blue Gill day when Doc got away without having to feed the camp! Guess everyone has read Jim Zagel's first novel "Money to Burn" which for some reason never mentioned Horseshoe. Would love to hear from old friends.
