Its getting close to that time of year again. I know last summer I impressed (my characterization) many of you with the detail of daily camp recollections. By my calendar, pre-camp starts Sunday 8:00 am June 15th, with campers reporting Saturday, June 21st, at which time I shall reprise my self appointed role as camp's de facto historian.
I may have a difficult time keeping up the daily grind with some other important activities occupying my time. My 2 1/2 year old son loves to "shoot hoops with daddy." But it would be a distinct honor for anyone to play with the 1985 Camp Horseshoe basketball award winner (sorry Sass and Sklare). Additionally (no pun intended), my second son is en route (late October). I have yet to convince my wife that Chief Namekogen Ephraim is an appropriate name. It must be because she can't find the Hebrew name that corresponds. And for those of you who are aware the Steve Farber's wife Paige is due on approximately the same day as my wife Kim, please ignore our derisive Cabin 14 buddy plaque T.D.E.T. (They Do Everthing Together) EE SF. I can assure that this scenerio was not contemplated when the spray paint soaked masking tape was peeled off in early august 1985.
Anyway, as I am writing this, I feel a flood of memories soaking me more than a ten tin of water in a boating meet canoe swamp. Hope everyone had a great winter. Stay tuned for another great summer in the North Woods of our minds (how poetic!).
