The poem you asked about appears to be "Thinking" by Walter D. Wintle, who wrote:
Test of a Man
The test of a man is the fight that he makes
the grit that he daily shows.
The way he stands upon his feet and takes

I've also seen the poem called the Victors by C.W. Longenecker, who also wrote:
