Lowey,
There is great footage of Chico's "air paddle" as well. The kid with the longest arms couldn't reach the damn water! Do you remember that we had to spend that night at a make-shift campsite above the falls? We couldn't make it down river to our anticpated campsite b/c daylight was fading fast. We were soaked, exhausted, and freezing. I remember having a conversation with JB (and others) as to whether it would be better to be miserably cold (like we were) or agonizingly hot (the complete opposite of what we were). Needless to say, we all thought it would be better to be sweating our asses off than shivering through the night. Somehow, I remember that trip being one of the best. Despite everything, we all had a blast. Once everything dried out, there was such a feeling of accomplishment that we made it through. Looking back, though, I have to wonder how prepared we were for the Ledges. I mean, our "training" for the trip included time trials through the canoe maze over by point flag. The ten fastest canoes made the cut. That really paid off, eh?
