My first year as a counselor- about 1962 or 63- I was one of 2 counselors on a trip down the upper totogatic. this was a part of that river that Horseshoe-ites had never floated. It was a dry year and for three days we basically pulled our canoes over rocks to float very short runs of pools, only to be out of the canoes the next minute to pull over rocks once again. we were a full 24 hrs late for our rendezvous with the "Kombi" and they sent helicopters out looking for us. We did come across what must have been a stream feeding into the river that was deep and yielded at least 30 big trout( can't recall the variety)-a bite with every cast. It was incredible- and no one else ever found that hole again. Does anyone remeber hearing about this trip?
