Quick response to you Chris...I didn't write that first post, nor would I have ever thought to. But, obviously, Kawaga campes are rather distraught at what the formation of Horseshoe has done. This is my first time looking at this site in probably six months. And, yes, Jordan did bring a few activities to Kawaga, Jordan was a great director. But as for the most important aspect of Kawaga that made it unique-- it's indian traditions, The Kawaga Ideal-- those have been ripped off. And, by the way, I accept your camp. Don't think that I have a problem with the existence of your camp. However, I have never, in my entire life, seen people go as low as to recruit campers from Kawaga for your camp as if purely for vengence. There are enough kids in the world-- enough in Highland Park alone-- to fill both camps. So, to go after kids that have already attended Kawaga is done so with vengeful motives. I am dissapointed in you, in your staff, for, if you realy did care about Kawaga, would not have supported splitting up of Kawaga age groups, of friends, of siblings! Friendships are ruined because of you! Is this what camp is supposed to be? So please do not moralize with us, Chris. Once Jordan left Kawaga, he severed ties with Kawaga and its families. It is rude, immoral and a rather scumbag move for him to steal our campers. And, of course your argument will probably be something like, 'it is their choice to switch camps." If you saw the pressure these kids have from the calls from horseshoe counselors, directors, assistant directors, pressure from parents, then you will understand why they switched. They are impressionable kids who only want to be with their friends, are confused and don't fully realize the magnitude of thier decision. They claim they have been promised no instrucitonal swims, will hand-pick their cabins etc. Classic Jordan lies. And they have HP parents who want to be part of something new and exciting although they really know nothing about anything. My mom has been a kawaga mom for a decade or so and can barely fathom why kawaga is special to me. These moms have no idea what is going on. And Chris, Camp Horseshoe has everything to do with Kawaga. Your staff is Kawaga. Your campers are Kawaga. Your program is Kawaga. Though your morals are not-- we care about keeping these campers because we like them as people-- you just want another six grand, and another six grand less to Kawaga. Kawaga will always be around, we have faced harder times than this. Just don't plan on touching Otto's. It's a shame, Chris, all these years we knew each other I thought you cared more than just money, not spending nights at camp so you can sleep wiht dozens of young girls every night and abuse your own powers...anyway, I guess this wasn't as quick as I expected but I hate how your camp is tearing away the innocence of summer camp.
