What an outstanding display of ignorance and spite. You must be so proud. There is certainly nothing brave about this Kawaga Brave. After reading these entries, I can say this. Based upon the tenets of the camp as quoted by these campers, Kawaga sounds like it might be an amazing place for children to spend their summers, a camp with tremendous moral fiber. However, the blatant dichotomy between the goals of Kawaga and the insidious actions of its campers and former campers on this site makes me think that perhaps those ideals are just simple, hollow words on a wall in a dining hall, perhaps meaningless. For such a great camp to have turned out these angry, resentful men is a mystery to me. Your comments do nothing other than promote an insidious culture which will have deleterious effects on both camps. Please don't be so shortsighted. Simply put, children have an incredible opportunity to experience the North woods with a rich history and profound tradition, one for which I am personally very proud. To debate who did what first and stole which tradition from whom is pointless. If these traditions begin to represent something to the boys who attended either camp and they can take those experiences with them into adulthood and become moral, loyal, respectful citizens, partially as a result of those experiences, well…then we will all win.
