The Chicken a la King was definitely in 1980. It was the All Nighter run by my brother Geoff. He and his co-master Goldie-locks had cooked it up five days before the T-Hunt. And it was not served at camp for a long, long time after that.
There was a complete inside of a cow in a box as a clue one year. The object was to say that's "gross", which led to the Gross Library -- where we had to search threw all the books to find notes with the letters to "Treasure".
One of my favorite clues was one Steve MO2 and I were masters for in 1985. We had an Indiana Jones "diamond head" (made out of wood). When placed in the correct position next to the map in the Rec Hall, a flashlight would shine through it and point to the location of the next clue.
By the way, MO2 and I also cooked up some nasty Trail Mix (it had to measured -- five quarts, which would lead you to the five tennis courts). Scotty Morrison would only let us cook it a day or so in advance due to the Chicken a la King incident!
